Curious to know how my readers deal with or if they have recurring anxieties, I decided to launch “Dear Anxiety.” An edition of Baring It All where I share anonymous testimonies and/or experiences of my fellow anxious messes. It’ll be a weekly edition where I post the experience you choose to email me every Wednesday (unless of course none of you have reached out that week which yay! Good for you!)
The goal of “Dear Anxiety” is to share and bring awareness to the ways anxiety can show up in our lives. I will hopefully be able to share some tools that have helped me as I always try to do here, but if not, we will commiserate together, and someone out there may relate to that specific experience. By sharing our tales, the community of Baring It All will shine light on unique yet universal anxieties which is the goal of the newsletter.
Nobody will know who you are, unless you choose to reveal your identity in the comments.
Here’s a prompt of what this might look like:
“Dear Anxiety,
Today you have left me feeling depleted and paralyzed after socializing for an hour with an old friend. I thought I had enjoyed my time with them but the unfortunate consequence of having you makes socializing not worth the effort. How can I ride the waves of being anxious while also being able to make and keep friends?”
And that’s when I come in.
I can’t wait to hear from you on: jihenetrumbo@gmail.com
I would encourage you to share this with your friends outside of Substack if you wish to do so.
What a wonderful initiative!!! 👏🏻👏🏻
Oh gosh, I got so much sharing I could do just from this week alone. Where do I begin?! Would love to submit to you at some point soon!
Looking forward to seeing other’s “Dear Anxiety” submissions.
